ETS Group – the European market and technology leader in the field of environmental technologies has acquired IVOC-X GmbH, a specialist in air purification systems

  • IVOC-X GmbH, based in Jena, Germany, will complement ETS Group with further patented cutting-edge technologies with applications in the industrial and laboratory sectors for various applications. In future, the company will operate under the name “ETS Air Systems” and expand the Group’s product range.
  • In addition to its own products that will be marketed under the brand “IVOC-X – Clean Air”, there will be a close technological co-operation with “ETS Degassing”, the European market leader in the field of mobile exhaust gas purification systems. The aim is to jointly develop new systems for the targeted reduction of the CO2 footprint and to drive forward the service for determining the CO2 impact for customers.
  • Targeted investments are planned in the further development of the joint Group with a focus on technical innovations and continued internationalization.

ETS Group – Environmental Technology Services – combines 17 years of experience in the field of environmental technology. The Group is represented internationally with seven locations in Europe and the Middle East and is, with ETS Degassing, the market leader for innovative services and technologies for exhaust gas treatment. With a fleet of around 50 mobile vapor combustion units as well as complementary equipment for use on customer construction sites and patented technology, the ETS Group already has a comprehensive network of systems and services in Western Europe. Over the last 12 months, the Group has further expanded its position, in particular with a focus on further internationalization and addressing different customer industries.

With the acquisition of IVOC-X, the Group is taking a further targeted step towards expansion, with the transaction contributing further innovative and patented solutions to the Group and thus to its positioning as a strong ESG company. The future strategy under the umbrella of the ETS Group includes not only the expansion of the air purification systems of the current IVOC-X, but also the combination of the efficient mobile systems of ETS Degassing with the exhaust air treatment technologies of IVOC-X. The takeover will expand and technologically diversify the ETS Group’s exhaust gas treatment offering. This will make the treatment of exhaust gases even more efficient in the medium term and, by reducing the GHG footprint, will make a significant contribution to sustainability and the fulfilment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). By integrating the IVOC-X systems for the continuous measurement of gas composition, the Group combines the expertise of complementary technologies that are essential for determining the CO2 impact and its reduction. For the future, the Group is planning further investments in the expansion of the joint technology portfolio and further continuous developments of its proprietary technology in order to meet the high demands of existing and new customer industries and to further expand its own technology leadership.

Normen Gerlach and David Wendel, Managing Directors of the ETS Group, explained: “The acquisition of IVOC-X gives us access to new technologies that we can utilize synergistically in our ETS Degassing systems. At the same time, we are increasing the IP protection of our systems and services. Furthermore, we gain access to know-how and expertise, which opens up new applications for us. In recent years, we have expanded our position in the market and responded flexibly to the increased regulatory requirements of our customers. The acquisition of IVOC-X will not only open up new industrial applications, together we will also be able to offer new services to our customers. This will also further drive forward our international expansion and competitive differentiation.”

Dr. Thomas Krech and Dennis Sippach, Managing Directors of IVOC-X – in future ETS Air Systems –, add: “We have found a partner in the ETS Group to further expand our products and applications for various air purification systems. Our innovations for the continuous measurement of air quality parameters also complement the ETS Group’s range in an almost ideal way. The positioning and structures of the ETS Group will enable us to make our expertise and offerings available to the market and our customers even faster.”

Dr. Uwe Nickel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the ETS Group, explained: “The management team of the ETS Group has created a platform for services in the field of environmental protection technologies based on decades of expertise in exhaust gas treatment in an outstanding manner and in a very short time. With the acquisition of IVOC-X as an innovative specialist for air purification systems, the Group is not only expanding its expertise, but is also able to further enhance it through intelligent combination within the Group, which further emphasizes the technological leadership of the ETS Group.”
